Crusher
A down-and-out Hollywood actor gets the role of his lifetime — but not in the movies. He's hired to play a fake CIA agent running covert ops for a real operative who refuses to get his own hands dirty.
Written by Matthias Hues and Leslie Carleton
Synopsis
Crusher is Matthias Hues' original action-drama series about Hollywood's real, uneasy fascination with the CIA — and how far the Agency has gone to get in bed with the entertainment industry. At its center is Johnny Dutch, a washed-up actor still trading on the memory of his one hit role, the tough vice cop "Crusher." When a mysterious operator offers him a way back into the business — playing an off-the-books CIA agent doing the Agency's dirty work in Hollywood — Johnny takes the job without asking too many questions. He quickly finds out that acting tough and being tough are two very different things, and that the deeper he goes, the harder it becomes to tell where the character ends and the man begins.
