Synopsis
Towing a battered Airstream and nursing a parrot he saved off a dark highway, a quiet operative rolls into Adair County and takes a cash-only door job at the Starlight Gentlemen's Club under the name Jack. The club is a front: Councilman Hale runs the permits and the payoffs, banker Victor Lang runs the money, enforcer Brick runs the muscle, and behind an EMPLOYEES ONLY door, trafficked women are drugged, tagged, and shipped out in unmarked vans. Jack keeps the floor quiet enough to earn trust — and dangerous enough that Hale hands him the keys as "Main Hand" while Lang tries to buy him outright as an inside man. Underneath the cover, he's building a case with club manager Mara, a woman playing her own long game against the men who own her club, and moving toward a midnight handoff where three women are set to disappear for good. A close-quarters war with road boss Rex Kline, a stolen data drive, and a wedged fire door later, the women get out clean and the operation stays standing — for now. A call from an unseen Handler closes the job and points toward the next one, leaving Hale exposed, Lang untouched, and a man everyone underestimated already driving toward the next hard county down the road.
