Synopsis
On his private retreat on Bali, aging billionaire Hans Rustam throws himself a lavish 60th-birthday dinner and stocks the guest list with the heroes of his youth: ten-time wrestling champion Arni Long, extreme-sports survivor Angèle Hall, martial-arts star Henry Stan, heavyweight boxing legend Jay Cooper, reality-TV host Mike Hammer, ex-Legionnaire Brenner, and movie star Matthew Stone. After a night of vodka, old rivalries, and toasts to each guest's most famous exploit, Hans reveals the real reason they're here over a live video feed: every one of them has been poisoned, and there's exactly one antidote hidden somewhere on the island. He calls it Mortal Game — years of wondering which of his idols would actually survive a real fight for their life, finally answered. The group fractures within minutes. Alliances form and break as the champions tear across jungle, cliffs, and an abandoned hotel compound hunting the single vial that can save them, while Hans and his wife watch it all unfold from the villa like a private pay-per-view. Matthew and Angèle pair up and grow close even as the others are picked off, and a second antidote — planted, they suspect, to keep the game going — sends the last survivors racing in different directions. With her own time running out, Angèle makes a final, devastating choice to save Matthew instead of herself — and reveals the secret behind her own survival legend before she's gone. Matthew barely makes it back to open water alive, pulled from a drifting boat by local fishermen weeks later: the only one who “wins” a game that was never really about survival, only about how far a very rich man would go to find out.
